Wildflower season is upon us!

It's that time of year again...finally. I just saw Rick's sticky about wildflower updates and got excited. Here's a photo from last July. This was taken at Gold King Basin near Alta Lakes. When I was there last summer I read in a Telluride paper that the Town of Mountain Village was considering annexing and developing the Alta Lakes area around the ghost town. I hope that doesn't happen. Cloning out the one house by the lake in this photo was annoying enough. :mad: Comments are welcome!

Awesome image! The riot of color is just amazing. You could use this image to accompany letters and emails in an effort to stop the development. Thanks for this post.

Wow, what a beautiful place. It looks like there are 54 acres of private property surrounding the lake.

There is always something we can do! Write and call local congressmen and start some sort of online petition! Once it's lost, its lost forever. With a photo like that....sheeeesh! We need to protect this area!
