I thought I'd go over to Point of Ayr yesterday afternoon and give the new time machine a shot or two.

Well, all I can say is that I must have read the tide table a bit wrong so photo ops were somewhat few and far between. Until this little rp decided to play ball and let me get a bit closer.

Shot nearly into the sun at about 7.15pm - there's no way this bird was letting me get up-sun, it just moved with me if I tried.

Haven't got used to the info in the D2Xs vf yet - when I looked at the exposure specs later on I was a bit tee'd off with myself because I could have dropped the iso to 100 and got the same shot.

The one thing I do know is that the shot would have looked really bad on the old D200.

Techs
D2Xs
Sig 500 f4.5 (Boy do I need a sigmonster)
ISO 400
1/1000th @ f8

Posted more as a contextual shot than a portrait!!

Thanks for looking

Hi Andy,
I really like this image , the colour of the ( Sky / Sea ) really compliments the foreground , maybe I'd be tempted to lose a touch off the bottom , but still a very nice image indeed.
Thanks for sharing.

Kind regards
Andy...

Nice Andy. I too think you could lose some off the bottom, or even the top?

Very nice Andy, much prefer the cropped version. On my screen the contrast seems a tad flat, I just did a quick 'auto contrast' in photoshop and imo it looked a lot better?

Hi Paul - I must have a bit of a prob with my monitor (I think my lad has been playing around with it) - how right you were!

Hopefully this looks a bit better

Anyone want to swap an 18yo long-haired guitar playing zombie thicko for a Sigmonster :frown: :frown:

fine environmental shot, just needs the contrast upping a lot more.

Hi a nice showing it in its environment, if you fancy a trip up my way I can take you to a nice beach with plenty of ring plovers and more.

Phillip.

Ps I use this for getting my time tides I think it is still free for the seven-day forecast .
