Super image! I continue to be amazed with your photos. You seem to always capture the essence of pristine light and raw beauty. My only offering to possibly improve this image is to crop from the bottom so as to be more as a 3:2 ratio. There is just too much foreground IMO.
Damn, Marc! You know what, you suck! You should get a job, you know, flipping burgers or a be lawyer or something, do something worthwhile with your life instead of spending all your time out in these beautiful areas waiting for the sun to set or rise. I mean, come on, get a life!
Another stunning image Marc, I prefer the cropped version. There are days you make me want to throw away my camera, but then I just let you inspire me to get out and do better. Thanks man!
Thanks guys. I actually think I prefer a crop somewhere between these two, and might put it on ESS at some point. I still have a lot from the SW trip I haven't shown yet because I've been busy lately. This was a pretty special morning. I captured this image and "Simple Dreams" - my favorite from the trip, within 15 minutes of each other And it was my birthday as well - the 4th of March. All of which came only because of a lot of patience and luck with the light, and planning/scouting the areas first.
I prefer the uncropped version...the sweep of the river leading you into the scene with the "current" coming in fromm the lower left corner is a nice element in this scene.
Hi Marc. Super image. If I were to crop this, I'd only crop from the bottom, just to the base of the first bunch of grass. It would end up more square than a standard 35mm frame. Wow...I love the colors in this image.
Sweet! My only nit is the corners are darkened just a bit more than I'd like. I'd lighten them just enough so you have the same effect of keeping the eye in the shot but I'd make it light enough that it doesn't look overly vignetted.
Outstanding, my eye is more pleased with the crp, however, the uncropped is more fun to explore. I would be very interested to the the unprocessed version of this. The colors are just so powerful, I'm curious as to how the camera captured this alone.
The camera captured it similarly, but considerably warmer. I tried to go with a very Veliva color palette for this one, while retaining the warmth in the grasses.
