Right, lets get the excuses out the way. This was taken with a Canon 300d, Sigma 50-500mm Zoom and novice photographer. It has been processed on an Acer TravelMate Notebook using Adobe Lightroom 1.0 and Elements 4. This may go some way to explaining any colour casts or sharpening artifacts that may become apparent when viewed on a decent system and monitor. I personally like the shot and it reminds me of a very enjoyable trip to a special island in the Irish Sea. If anyone else gets some pleasure in viewing it all the better.

Hi Rob,

I like this. To make it even better give it some more USM and more saturation. I really hope to bag some Puffin shots myself this year.

Regards

While the elements are nice in the shot Rob, you're right, it looks liek it hasn't been processed as well as it could be. Would like to see it processed to be honest...and that would make it a lot more enjoyable for me

Love the composition :toast:

This is what I get frustrated with on the forums. The last shots I posted were critisized for being oversaturated and oversharpened. I can't seem to get the balance right. Working on a Notebook monitor is hard enough and calibration isn't ideal.

I know it's difficult because we all use different equipment with different calibrations etc. This is why I've given up worrying about colour and sharpening comments on the Net. I am more interested in composition and subject matter.

Thanks Rob

I agree with you Rob, the important thing is how it prints!
