My wife and I just returned from a great vacation in Florida. I was very sorry to have missed the outing, but as you can imagine, my trip was amazing. Seven nights in a private house on the beach with my wife and my dog. What could be better? Other than twelve sweaty guys camping out in the woods in Arkansas, of course. I realized that I need some big glass. I've never shot much wildlife, and I am beginning to realize why. It sure would have been nice to have a 500mm and a 1.4x on this trip. But I settled in and got some kind of new stuff. Had a great time, and got plenty of rest. It was, by the way, a real vacation. Great to be home!
Glad you survived your trip down to the beach! I hope your dog is a water dog, if so he is probably needing a week of rest after being at the ocean!
I'm headed down to FL in June with my bride and daughter for a week of swimming with the dolphins and rays (and shooting with my new underwater camera a bit - oops, I guess that makes it work, ey?). So nice to have the beach within reach, or at least within a reasonable driving distance. I prefer the west coast but it is so darn far away, and so many great photo ops along the way I have to plan at least 2-3 weeks...
Great tones in this shot Dominic. Love the simple, elegant comp and subtle textures in this shot! Glad you had a relaxing vacation, it's good to recharge the batteries.
Sorry you couldn't make, Dominic. But I'm sure Florida had lots of interesting things to see along the beach too Hope to meet you at the next get together.
Love the simplicity of the composition and glad you had a great vacation. Two weeks from today pretty much the whole Lauderdale clan goes to Scotland for a major blowout, once-in-a-lifetime vacation, so seeing the results of yours gets me excited about mine.
Tim, there's never enough memory.. or enough time to do all the photos I want to do on vacation. Anyway we're going to the Lauderdale castle, valley, town, sleeping in the Lauderdale Hotel and maybe even pass by Lauderdale college.. with a rear name of Ernst I think you'd be bored out of your skin.
