I'm having trouble printing a custom size (13x22) in CS3 or CS2 on my Epson R2400. Instead of printing it just spits the paper out and an error message comes up saying "Media not loaded correctly". Well, I've double checked my settings and I know it's loaded correctly, and "Sheet Paper" is selected as the source (this is a cut sheet from a roll). I set up the paper size as a "User Defined" custom size as I've always done in the past. It prints "normal" sizes (8x10, 11x17, and 13x19) without any issues at all.
I had the same problem on another size and I contacted Epson who told me to make sure that I had their default right-left and top-bottom margins. I had tried borderless mrgin settings. Anywy, this may or may not be the answer to the problem you are experiencing

I sometimes have this problem with my Epson R1800. I find that if I put a piece of cardboard in the paper feeder behind the sheet of paper that it loads fine.
Bill, I have a 2200 and have found that it will reject a custom cut sheet of paper if the edge is not straight or a perfect 90° to the sides. It scans the edge and seems to be able to tell that it is not aligned. Since you're using roll paper anyway, why don't you just let the cutter do the work instead of pre-cutting the paper?
Thanks guys. Gary, I would love to let the cutter do the work, but the R2400 doesn't have a cutter. I will never understand the reasoning in Epson's brain behind that brilliant move . I usually cut the paper usin a T Square, but will go back and check it for squareness again, AND I'll try the cardboard trick as well. As far as margins go, I have more than enough margin space all the way aroound so that shouldn't be an issue.
Yeah, I used to love the cutter on my 2200. Bill, the 2400 can supposedly accept roll paper and print a cut line. I have not tried it myself but it may be worth seeing if that will solve your problem.
Hi Guy - the R2400 does accept roll paper and does indeed print a faint line to follow, but it's more trouble than it's worth. My printer pulled a similar stunt some time back and spit out the entire roll of paper all over the floor. Runied a bunch of paper with creases and scuffs! Needless to say I was not happy! Since then, I've just cut the amount I need and feed it like sheet paper. Haven't had a problem with that until now.
