Hello

I will be visiting Park City Utah next week on vacation with my wife. I've never been to this area before. It will not be a photo vacation but I hope to get out some with my camera as much as can. Just thought I would post a note to see if you guys could recommend any good places for photos in the general area of Park City or Salt Lake City.

Thanks

Paul

What kind of images do you like to shoot? Birds? Wildlife? Nature scenics? That might help guide your decision (and our suggestions...) I've only been out there once, but I'm sure a few of the other folks around here can fill out the list.

Hey Paul,

Mt. Timpanogos is a beautiful mountain about a half hour drive from Park City. You could drive to Heber/Midway, then to the Deer Creek Reservoir, where the mountain towers in the background. If you have the time, actually hiking on Timp is fun - a good trail leaves from Sundance. Even from Sundance itself the mountains look pretty awesome. Here's a shot of mine from Deer Creek Reservoir: http://www.widerange.org/photo.php?id=459

Les, I live in Virginia and have never been to the mountians out west. I'm interisted in wildlife and mountain scenics.

Jack, Thanks for the preview of Mt Timpanogos. Looks like a great place to go.

Timpanogos is a beautiful mountain. If the Alpine Loop road is open between Sundance and American Fork canyon it's a great little drive.
Also from Park City you can drive into Kamas, and follow the signs to the Mirror Lake highway (highway 150). I'm not sure if it's open yet but it's worth a try. The road will take you to the high Uinta and along some beautiful alpine lakes.
