Taken about two hours ago, at a sett in woodland near where I live. I've been visiting this sett for the last couple of years, sometimes to take photos, sometimes to just sit and watch them.

This shot was a bit of an accident... a slave flash was positioned in a tree above where the badger is, and I had the master flash on camera. The master had -3 flash comp dialled in (accidentally), so it was quite weak, but it resulted in this shot where the badger is basically lit by just the slave flash above it. But I quite liked how it turned out.

EOS 350D, 70-200 f4L, 1/60 at f4, 2x 550EX

Cheers,
Michael

I think this is excellent, full of mood and atmosphere.Gives the impression the animal is perhaps spotlit by the light of a full moon.
