The other morning
Woodland Park and Divide got dumped on Sunday night. At least 6-8 inches of heavy wet stuff in most places. My 4runner had 12 inches piled up on top of it.

On my way in to work I went through the Garden. The clouds started breaking up and clearing on Pike's Peak making some dramatic conditions. I decided to be a little late.

I like this one for the mood. It would have been a little nicer if there was snow in the garden and/or if you could see more of the peak. Still it was a pretty morning.

This is just great! It's supposed to in the 90s over the next couple days here in Tucson. I'm envious!

Woah, I love the contrast of solid orange with the b&w background!

Nice shot, Kalin. I came up in the morning, too, but got tired of waiting for the clouds to clear, so I left. Looks like you pulled in to the overlook not long after I bailed. Glad you got something.

This is very nice. Too bad there is some blue sky over the peak. Otherwise, the only color would be on the red rocks, making them really stand out. Great weather you had there!

Nice. Even with the blue sky and not seeing more of Pikes Peak I like it. As I said in response to Rick's photo of the Flatirons and Long's taken the same morning: I wish I could have been there!

Kalin, nice pic. I like the interesting lighting on the Garden.

Great light, those sandstone fins look like they are on fire!!! I was going to head down there too, but my wife called on her way in to work to tell me the snow level never made it down to the Garden, so I stayed up here and even drove out to Divide hoping for some intimate snow/branches kind of stuff.

Momo and Josh,
It's funny how perspectives are different. I actually chose this shot for the bit of sky as a fresh contrast. Here is a tighter shot that didn't have any sky in it.

Thanks for the comments everyone.

Nice shot Kalin! The Gateway really lights up some mornings... like it is on fire. I like the first comp the best but maybe crop it like a faux pano to keep the width of the rock.

We got some wild weather conditions over the last few days and you did a good job catching it here. We didn't get any snow out of the storms in Rockrimmon. My newly planted flower beds on the other hand probably feel like swimming pools.

I keep getting skunked on the sunrises lately. When they're good, I don't have time. When I have time, the clouds to the east keep getting in the way.
