Cool detail Rick! The sandstone has very warm color and interesting texture. :toast:

Weird is the word for it allright. I hate climbing on this stuff because those flakes often chip off. I took a 20 footer in a Zion canyon once because of rock like that. A nice study in rock texture common to some areas of the SW.

These were real delicate fins, Marc, you wouldn't even have been able to put body weight on them before they broke. Yeah, Zion is freaky like that, you gotta be careful.

I think you need to bring out more colors, Rick. It seems sort of flat.

Great work, looks like a leaf at first glance. Colors and contrast look great. Must be very hard to look across all these formations and find nice compositions like this.

Very cool, what would it look like it if you increased contrast & maybe sharpened, and then changed to B & W?

Very interesting... did you try flipping it upside down ? Looks like it could be cool like a wing that way......

Kind of goes with your ID photo, Rick. Beyond that, I like the beautiful leaf texture. It could use a little more sharpening (at least on my monitor; not sure if sharpening looks different on different monitors...)
