Well, I went from clouds in the wrong place to no clouds at all. The alpenglow was really nice this morning, but I was about 10 minutes too slow getting ready this morning.

I'm enjoying the outings in the park. The wildflowers are really starting to look nice in the park.

This shot is the western ridge of Ute Valley Park shot with the Canon 70-300 4-5.6 IS (non-DO) @300mm on a Rebel XT. I think this is the best composition I've found so far so I'll have to try and get my butt out of bed a few minutes earlier tomorrow morning and try this with the alpenglow.
ISO 100, f13, 1/125, no filters.

Mel, I like the incorporation of the trees. If you don't get much clouds in the sky, I'd suggest a comp that doesn't include much of the sky. I think alpenglow would add to the image as well. You may also want to shoot earlier and get Earth's shadow for more interesting colors.

The photo is a bit too yellow on my sRGB monitor. Otherwise it's very nice.

The comp definitely has potential, Mel, but as you suggested, the light is holding it back. I'm not sure if I like this as much as one of your earlier posts with a wider view, but with the right light I'm sure this coudl sing!
