Being pretty new to this site, I was noticing that when I posted my first images, the resolution compared to other images/photos in the gallery was quite "off". I'm being mindful of the posting guidelines, i.e. maximum file size of 200KB, 720 pixel maximum on longest side. In order to get to the 200KB limit I've had to use image quality of 2 when saving my jpegs in CS2.
Am I not doing something right here?
Thanks for your help.

set you resolution to 72 dpi prior to jpeg conversion.
You might also want to try "save for web", as it seems to deliver pretty consistent results. Also, be sure you are sharpening your image AFTER resizing it down to the 720 pixel size.
Rajmy: Do work at 72 dpi. Here's a link to Marc Adamus Sharpening Technique My general workflow is to make all of my cropping and levels adjustments with the full size image and then cut down to 1200 pixels on the long side. From there I go through the sharpening steps listed in the referenced thread. I then Save For Web and choose the opiton to Optimize File Size and fill in 200. Hit Save, title your image and you're set. E-mail me if you have any specific questions. >=))>
