After Micheal's post about a week ago on the front range I thought I would check out the Flatirons from Chautauqua yesterday. Here are some of the shots:

I'll bet in a few weeks those meadows will be teeming with wildflowers. Now all we need are interesting clouds/weather.

Yes,

There are already some decent patches of wildflowers in the meadows along with alot of smaller flowers getting ready to bloom.

I really was hoping to get some clouds yesterday. But they were all further east in the AM. This morning I was in Denver for my brother-in-law's graduation. I was dying to get back out there looking out at all the awesome clouds near the Front Range. It looks like there is more in the forecast with our afternoon thunderstorm pattern kickin' in. :jump:

That's great the grass is green this year - I remember it being brownish throughout May last year.

TC - Don't you just bring your clouds with you when you come?

Nice collection Derek. Haven't had time to get out this weekend, but based on last week's conditions, I would expect things to be pretty darn good from now until June, longer if we get the rain that's predicted for up here this week.

I think the yellow flowers will peak in the next 2 weeks. Has anyone seen orange poppies near Chautauqua?
