This captured the same evening as my image that most of you remember, 'Forces of Nature'. Shooting into the teeth of 40mph winds along the shore of St. Mary Lake, Glacier National Park. This wider perspective at sunset showcases more of the surroundings while capturing the mood and conditions at the time.
Not much you can do, Jesse. I don't care about a little moisture on my camera, but I had to wipe off the lens after every exposure, as the freezing lake water was covering everything within 50 feet of the shore the wind was blowing so hard!
As usual a very effective composition - and that crashing little wave with spray flying - just icing on the cake!

I have no comment on this image......the tonal range is beyond incredible and a true testament to the quality of digital photography.....From the warm rocks to the cool sky, this image just rocks!!!!
In addition to action, I love the layers in this image. The waves, mountains and clouds all have layered depth. It's best felt if you pull your face away from the monitor, like looking at a print. Nice.
That's an amazing image, Marc - I continue to be blown away (and humbled!) by your photography. Very inspiring for the aspiring! These scene brought back a very old memory of a similar scene at Lake Abert in Eastern Oregon, when a thunderstorm created some really startling waves. It didn't occur to me back then to haul out my camera gear in the rain/hail/wind/lightening onslaught... you are intrepid!
You continue to amaze me Marc! Another excellent shot with so much emotion captured. It is no wonder you have so many images included in the EPI exhibit. I am looking forward to the reception, see you there
This is really nice and I like a lot that the sky is more even vs the one with the sun breaking thru. They compliment each other very well. Feels very much like I'm there....
I have now, Marc - if this is the image that you're referring to:

Very surreal! I browsed past it without recognizing the location. You probably know exactly where I was referring to -- the gravel beaches on the southeast shore of the lake?
