Stepping back to a great weekend, here is one of my last shots from Sunday on Smith Creek. I think we all took a similiar shot but I don't think anyone has posted one here yet. So I'd love to see your versions too, just drop them in this thread. Thanks!

Nice Wayne - judging by the light hitting the rocks on the right, I'd bet this shot was taken pretty near the end of our trip on Smith Creek. This was one of my favorite sections of the creek - thanks for sharing!

You got it Tim! I actually started packing up and then thought that the filtered "spot" light might be an interesting element if I controlled it right. So I took a few more shots this was the result.
I have to admit, I kind of like this shot and I'm not one given to liking many of my own images! Have a great weekend, thanks!
Wayne, the light rays really add interesting detail to your shot. Here is one I took with my 5D with a wider perspective. I am not sure it really works, but I was trying to catch some of the light in the trees.
I like it too, Wayne. I like the mood you've created with the nice morning light warming up the rocks. You did a great job handling the highlights here. Great work!
Here is one more take on the shot. I have been playing around with the new black and white capabilities in CS3 and this is my first attempt with a black and white conversion. I know I need to take Tim's black and white course but in the meantime any helpful feedback is welcome.

Tom - we had the same idea about this one - B&W! (and I like yours, by the way!) I'm not entirely sure I really like my conversion yet (so many options!). Sometimes when I post here I haven't made up my mind about an image yet - I may redo it at some point or decide that I don't like it at all. Time will tell!
Great shot of one of my favorite places along the creek. I have some that I took way back in April of '05. I took these three days before the dedication ceremony when the Nature Conservancy got the property. These images were among several prints that I gave to them that night that now hang in their offices in Fayetteville. There are a few here. http://www.glennwheeler.com/photo_gallery_6.htm
Isn't it great that this little waterfall (if you can even call it that) has garnered so much interest - all of us shot it that day, at least 25-30 of my workshop folks have shot it this spring, and I've shot it probably ten different times, and the darn thing isn't even five feet tall! It has so much character (as do the photographers) that changes almost daily. That just goes to prove that size really doesn't matter!
