This is from my deck on Friday just before it stopped raining (that chair-brella comes in handy!). Notice the nice drop caught by the open shutter...

What incredible light Tim! The dark corners, saturated color and selective focus are wonderful here too. If I were one to be picky (don't say it) I would have liked just a smidge of separation between the two blooms. But then I'd be proud to say this was mine!
Beautiful work, Tim! That's pretty cool how you caught the drop in mid air. And such a lovely yellow color, and sharpness where you want it. Thanks for the post!
BTW, I was through Springfield during mid day yesterday, and was saddened by all the ice damage to the trees . I don't think I saw a single tree taller than about six feet that didn't have at least two or three limbs broken off - most had many broken ones. It's hard to imagine what it looked like right after the storm...

Thanks for the comments!
Bill: The damage was quite horrific in places (a lot of streets were closed for weeks) and many valued trees were completely lost. That and the mid-April freeze have certainly made it a hard year for trees.
