Rehabilitation
This is a record shot of an adult Tawny Owl (female) with an orphaned Tawny Owlet she is temporary fostering.

Brief History: Adult came to us after she was discovered trapped in the framework of an Artic Lorry, this was between the cab & the trailer. The Tawny was originally hit & then trapped in France & transported unaware to Gloucester. She suffered no breaks, only a few bruises.

The youngster came in as an orphan, this little fella is now being raised by the French Owl as this has helped her through her rehabilitation program for re-release.

The French Owl over the next 2 weeks will be transported back to the area in France where she originally came from, the person who will be releasing her will be the truck driver that hit her in the first place, he is very please she survived & extra pleased to release her back to the wild.

The young Owlet & another one we have in will both continued to be fostered by our resident Tawny's, this will keep them wild until they to will be released back to the wild.

I hope the above makes sense

Now live on webcams 1 & 2

I wonder if she speaks French & I wander if the young Owl is getting French Lessons?

Nice picture and a nice story. What happened to your camera gear?

Hi Paul, I sold the camera gear to help fund the 1st phase of the new place we will be moving to. Fingers crossed the move should take place during September 2007 :jump:

New Location: Netheridge Farm, Hempsted. Gloucester. GL2 5LE. A complete farm with 12.5 acres. Soon to become enhanced to increase local wildlife :jump:

I will be getting new equipment during 2008 :jump:
