Just back from another day sorting out my flat, and not had chance to download any images yet, but many thanks for the brave soles who put up with the weather on Saturday, it was much appreciated.

We did not see Elan at its best, in finer weather both redstart and the pied flycatcher are much more approachable that said......

For me, bird of the day was a result of the small passage fall of wood warblers that happened between Thursday and Saturday. The male on the lower path was putting on an incredibly showey display - this has to be the best views of this now relatively uncommon bird that I have had in some 20 years of birdwatching.

Some lessons learned by me, mealworm feeder mk II is now in development....

Oh, the flycatchers were failry happy with mealworm feeder Mark I - Mrs F especially liked the ones who had jumped over the edge - she kept hopping through under the tree trunk and getting the ones on the ground!

I alos loved the wood warbler - I hadn't got the focal length to bother with the camera, so stood back and enjoyed the display. Another new bird for me!

Thanks again for organising

yeah, it was a good display for me too. Thanks to your feeders mike! Its a pity we have to travel so far for them or i'd go back again. Where do u get the mealworms from btw? I'm thinking of baiting some spotted flycatchers next.

Thank, mike your hard work was what made it a great day even with the rain.

Szekiat, most pet shops which deal with reptiles would stock them. Try your localpets at home.

The usual on line wild bird food retailers now sell live food as well as dried mealworms, otherwise pet shops that specialise in reptiles are another source
