Just back from a week in the Hebrides with Corncrake very much in mind and even though it was a very successful trip I only managed a handful of good Corncrake images.

Good image David - classic pose and nice to see it calling; or should that be "craking??"
Very nice David, possibly a tad early as the numbers will build over the next couple of weeks, always difficult to guage when best between bird numbers and vegetation height/growth.
Very lucky to get such a good eye while the bird is calling, generally the nictitating membrane closes over.
"it was a very successful trip I only managed a handful of good Corncrake images" -- I know the feeling!
I'm now not a great fan of Mares Tail Grass - but still have a good number as well - the SEO was a cracker which you should post next.
Cheers

Looks like a very productive trip. Excellent shot of a bird I have never seen. Thanks for sharing.
