I finally got some 4x5 film developed, so here's a belated winter shot from sometime in Feb. or March. At the time I didn't think the lighting was so great, but now that I see it I think it worked out ok.

the layering is very well done here Jack, nice and stately! What mountain range is this?

Yes - very nice layering going on. The light is very subtle, but still flattering for this scene, especially the subtle highlights on the trees and grasses. I like the color palette too - subdued, but very appealing. The detail and textures are superb. Not a stop-you-in-your-steps shot like many of your others, but very rewarding for anyone taking the time to explore the scene. And you can't ask for a better backdrop!

I think this is a nice photo. Not like the great ones that you normally put out though. I would suggest increasing the red channel for some warmer tones. I really like the composition.

Thanks guys. Yes this one definitely has more subtle colors than my usual stuff.

Art - this is the Sneffels Range in the northern San Juans.

Nice shot. I like the soft light and the comp.

Subtle and powerful all in one frame. Nice one, Jack.

I agree with Todd - we don't always need to be hit over the head with beauty. Even the San Juans don't overpower us all the time. Well done.
