Made a trip to DNM with the fam. this weekend. I was hoping to see more flowers and although there were some I didn't see in the way of "large" expanses to incorporate into some wide angle canyon shots.
There were spotty areas of penstemon, paintbrush, and claret cup cactus were blooming. The cheat grass was also nice and green - good fire starter for later in the summer.
Anyway, thought I'd post a shot of Steamboat Rock in Echo Park where we camped.

...good fire starter for later in the summer...

Or, later this month, the way things are going in your neck o' the woods. I suspect your lack of moisture this year led to the lack of flowerfields. Cool shot of SR, though.

Yeah, The cliff on the right side is almost washed out but anything I tried to do to it just made it look wierd.
The water wasn't clear up to bank yet - I think I could have gotten the whole reflection if the water had been just a foot or 2 higher.

Chuck, nice pic. Did you try a shadow/highlight adjusment to just the cliff? That may help, along with a slight boost in saturation.

Impressive formation and a nice capture, Chuck.
