Taken at Salthouse in Norfolk in Feb. Great to watch their feeding. Pretty big in the frame but it's full frame and at 500mm so couldn't remove any extenders etc, or move back. Shame about the front facing pose, but it was either this or it's head was on the ground turning over stones!

I know that flock at Salthouse well and you'reright about them being head down and busy 99% of the time they're at this spot. Nice light too making a more than decent shot.

Despite any nits over comp or pose this is still yet another cracking image Graeme
I think its a lovely shot and would be very happy with it. I am in agreement with you re pose but sometimes we have to take the best we can get. It is very nice to be so close to the bird in the first place. I also think birds in the centre of images on lots of forums are over critiqued. As long as the rule of thirds is generally being adhered to one should come up with a reasonably composed photo.

Nice image Graeme I like the lighting and the different colour of the stones.
