Another shot from last week on Mull. Just up the road from our house we had a nice field/bay/small hidden beach which was home to some rock pipits. We kept an eye on what rock tops they were using as perches and I slowly crawled my way up to one of them whilst the pair were flying around elsewhere. It was a fairly dull light for the most part and pretty windy but I laid waiting in total for about half an hour to 40 minutes (I think - at one point I was so cosy I nearly dozed off as I'd managed to seal the wind out totally ) and in that time had 3 landings, one of which the pipit had a bit of food in its beak.
I took quite a few shots but these two were my favourites although I can't decide which I prefer so I'm sharing both
D2x, full frame (in HSC mode though), 200-400 VR, 380mm, 1/250 at f5.6, ISO 320, manual exposure.

BG, perch, subject, detail are all great.
Both shots work well for me
