Right along the road
I took this early one morning enroute to one of the worst breakfasts I've ever eaten,(in Oregon), but some great conditions on the Upper Rogue River. This is Salt Creek right along Highway 58, just upstream of Salt Creek Falls. This little falls and stretch of stream caught my eyes, so I braved the truck traffic along the road to stop and shoot.

Don't have the specs with me, but it is my same camera and 70-200L non-IS, polarizer, tripod.

I like the framing of the falls by, and touch of color in, the foliage. Good find. (Care to elaborate on the breakfast?)

Ned, this is a very interesting image...

first, you could crop the bottom half and just make a square image with the leaves framing the bottom of the frame...

to me it almost looks like the leaves in the middle are going over the creek, but its my guess there is a bend in the water and an S curve we cant fully see....

Sharpness, color and water texture are dead on...well done!!! :toast:

I had to do a double take, for a second I thought I was looking at the bottom of the Washington Cascades as seen from Highway 706 in MRNP. This scene bears a rather closer resemblance. I'm not so hot on the image as an art shot, but its gratifying just the same in that I've been personally vindicated in suspecting a small waterfall (or three) in that stretch leading up to the big fall.
