Hi guys, i think i've just managed to ruin my 1dmk2's shutter. Was bursting away on a mallard fly past when i got an error 99. Resetting didn't help so i manually lifted up the mirror to see that my shutter's all scrunched up and in a mess. I've never had to do a shutter replacement on a 1dmk2 so i have no idea how much it will cost. Anyone here has any clues? I'm based in london, so i think i'll be going to fixation for it unless somewhere else is cheaper. help.... :frown:

Mine did the same so i sent it off to colchester cameras. It took just over two weeks . They cleaned the sensor also and charged me 278-00 pounds inc-vat. most of it was the labour cost. Good luck.

I`ve just had the shutter on my 20D replaced. Cost me £200. And the repair wasn`t even done properly, so I had to send it back a second time. Very annoying. I think I will try Fixation next time.

in view of the fact that it costs me £120 back in singapore and the turn around including getting someone to ship it back to me via hand luggage is about 3weeks, i've decided to send it home. Irritating when i was intending to go shoot puffins at some point. I'm just hoping i won't be too late.

Szekiat,

Don't worry too much - Puffins should be around until mid July. Good luck with getting the shutter fixed up.
