I'm BAAAAck, take two.
Well, I'm back from my second ten day Southwest trip in three weeks! Yeah, I know, I suck, but such is the misery that is my life.

Peggy, Ellen and I hiked Angles Landing and part of the Narrows in Zion, visited Bryce at sunrise and explored Peek-A-Boo and Spooky slot canyons in Escalante, along with visiting with my Mom and brother in the midst of their motorcycle trip in Zion from Colorado.

This photo of us is in a wide part of Spooky. We had a great time together and I hope you new fathers out there see this type of thing in your future with your daughters and wives.

Mark, excellent photo...

I am looking forward to my first hiking adventure with my baby

Oh yeah, Darren, you have to get them used to what the rest of their life will be like. We took Ellen hiking, biking, out photographing and out installing coffee brewers at this age. Now, it's no big deal for her. Make it fun for them, of course, and it will make for a better life for you later on.

Darren - there are lots of baby+camera backpacks just the right size for this cutie!

And, Mark - GREAT that you got Ellen out with you from the start. Girls, especially, need that. None of this "home with the dolls" crap for girls any longer, I hope...

Awesome family portrait Mark, this is exactly the kind of stuff I plan to do with my fam. Aria is still a little wiggle worm, but she'll be hiking with me in no time

On top of Angles Landing.

Ellen was driving me crazy taking her time and dragging her feet at the start of the hike. LIke any kid, she doesn't want to expend herself too much. After only a half mile or so, she got all excited about it and lead the rest of the way to the top and we all had a great time.

Wow - how did your daughter do on the scary (narrow) part of Angel's Landing, Mark? I suspect my fingernail marks are still in the handrails from the last time I was there... rather elevated and airy up there for us acrophobes!

Tom

She ran up it without scarcely a blink. I had prepped both her and Peggy about it and I was right next to her the whole time but it didn't bother her a bit.

The second shot is killer, pretty epic family portrait. :toast:

You're a lucky man my friend!

You're a lucky man my friend!

Well, you know me, I'm an idiot, but if there is one thing I know, it's that I'm a lucky man, and I make a point to enjoy every minute of it.

Thanks for sharing Mark. I've been taking my daughter on walks and such, and soon we'll be hitting some trails. I'm very excited about the future.

That second portrait is way sweet. Glad you had an awesome time!
