My wife and I took a short hike up to Grass Lake yesterday afternoon, which is just above North Lake. We were treated to a spring shower and some hail while up there!! We heard from some people on the trail it was snowing a bit up at Lower Lamarack Lake and was cold and windy.
This was a great lake to explore and we were fortunate to see these magnificent reflections you see here. Walking along the shore line revealed shooting stars starting to bloom as well. A great afternoon!!
Processed in Canon's DPP and CS2. I added just a bit of a warming filter in PS and just some creative burning to put emphasis on the trees and reflections.
Hope you enjoy.
EDIT: Here's a link to an alternative comp, which I got to thinking about yesterday. What attracked my attention in the first place was the painterly reflections of the brown-red trunks. So that's where I've placed the emphasis on them.
Care to share your thoughts?
I like what you've done with the psuedo vignetting technique. I almost makes me feel like I'm looking thru binoculars! I'm not sure if you intended, but the burning is pretty apparent across the tops of the trees. It's effective in how you've presented this, but still pretty obvious.
I see a theme emerging - especially after your recent ESS post! Good potential with this.

Hi Lon. In my haste to work this up this morning I over did it on the tips of the trees I'll have to rework this a bit more carefully as well as another from yesterday. As far as a theme goes, I think you're right! Thanks for commenting.
