A couple of my images are featured in the EPI show this year, but I wasn't able to get to Seattle for the openning last week. I know several other photographers on this forum had photos in the show and Marc won an award. Just wondering if anyone went, and if so, how it was. I was very impressed with all the photos last year. Anything new and/or exciting to report? I'm still waiting for the winning images to be posted on Art Wolfe's site so I can check them out.
I wish you both could have gone. Sean, your prints looked very good. The only PNWNP guy I met was Kevin McNeal - great guy, we went out to dinner later with his wife and my girlfriend - he hates sushi Otherwise, it was a bit more low-key (except this one lady who had been a bit too liberal with the wine bar) than last year because the images came from photographers all over the country and not everyone could make it. The quality of the images overall was much, much higher this year though. Some absolutely stunning work on display, and you all still have another 3 + weeks to go see it.
I was able to make it up for part of the evening. As Marc stated above the caliber of the imagery was much better this year. I am sure that had to do with the competition being open to the entire country. It was great to see Marc and many other photographers I know from other organizations. There were not as many at the reception this year, but it was still very well attended. I knew of a few that flew in for the event, but many that were not able to make it.
It sounds like Art has some great ideas for expanding the exhibit in the future. It will be a good one to keep in the back of your mind for next year.
