I took this image last Saturday very early in the morning. Eric Hahl has a very nice rendition of the same view, (the first one you see as you walk down the steps), of Shepperds Dell Falls. The big leaves there were out in full force, and since it was so still I tried taking a head on shot of these falls framed by them.

Very nice...wouldn't change a thing. Don't you guys get any wind down there?

Nice framing Ned. Perfect exposure to get just the right amount of blur in the water.

Nice flow to the composition and framing.

Really nice shot, Ned. I've tried this many times with varying degrees of success, but you've really nailed it. The composition, color and clarity are perfect. A more subtle plus is that the stone wall along the trail is concealed in the foliage - while it's pretty and rustic, it would compete with the main focus on the falls in this view. Now I gotta go back and try this again!

Great framing with those bright leaves. I might crop off the toop sixth or so as the top most bright leaves I don't feel add anything, excellent work.

I stopped by Sheppard's Dell yesterday after being inspired by Ned's photo, and laughed out loud when I turned the corner to the spot he shot this from:

Ned's Viewpoint

So, yes, I straddled the cones and caution tape, and got the photo! (unfortunately, one of the cones has been tossed into the splash pool at the base of the falls).
