Another view of this charming falls. Thank you for the feedback on the last one. Here is a slightly faster shutter and a more intimate view. This was the first comp I went for when I finished sliding down the hill.
I love these falls, and I like this perspective of em. I've been down there eons ago. I made a makeshift raft outta those logs on the left of the falls, and floated out in the middle. Just enough time for it to come unbound. Man was that water cold! .
I like this one a bit more than the prevous version, Andy. The colors are better, and defintely more moody - really nice. You could try cropping about a third of the rocky foreground out to reinforce the falls as the focal point. It also looks slightly tilted to the left, due to the far line on the splash pool -- in this case, the pool might be big enough (and the perspective low enough) to warrant making that line horizontal.
I would not float out there on a makeshift log raft, however... without a real raft as a backup...
I admire your ability to get to a location for a very different view of this falls. May I suggest that you use Photoshop's ability to modify perspective in order to take care of the 'looming' effect created by pointing up with your 28mm lense. I don't know if you have any tilt lenses with your digital system but short of using a view camera to maintain the straight verticals of the balsalt columns, the use of the perspective control is your only choice.
