One more cactus - this time here in Colorado. This is a Mountain Ball Cactus, found in Rocky Mountain National Park today...
Also seen: the first Calypso Orchid of the season along Wild Basin. Some early Chiming Bells and assorted other plants were also in bloom in the area - late Pasqueflowers are blooming along the road in to Wild Basin, while Oregon Grape, Golden Banner, Larkspur, and Spring Beauty were blooming along the path.
I went up to Ouzel Falls. There were several less than 4' long stretches of leftover packed snow (less than 1' deep each) right before Calypso Cascades; other than that the trail was clear. Those small patches are likely gone today, or by tomorrow anyway. It's a really early melt this year.

How far up Wild Basin did you go? Did you hit snow at all?
