I think I missed the beginning explanation of these terms on the Flora forum. Could someone explain.
Thanks

SOA: Shallow On Arrival

DOA: Deep On Arrival

Referring to depth of field preferences. Rumor has it that the SOA types cannot shoot with apertures smaller than f5.6 and actually prefer f2.8 and f4 to feel really comfortable. They also think the DOA types are more akin to those who get tagged with the same acronym at the morgue.

OTOH, DOA types never shoot with an aperture opened below f16 and some even love f32 and f36. A grand bunch, they sometimes substitute other uncomplimentary S words when referring to the shallow folk. Those of us who are Deep are convinced the monikers also apply to thought processes as well as aperture preferences. A vaccine to ward off the shallow DOF bug is in development but still not avalilable. Unfortunately some of the most notorious SOA practitioners are too far gone and no cure is in sight. May they CSP (Continue Shooting Prolifically)    :jump:

Catherine, there are medications which can help that condition.

Life is more fun without them, though!
