I need the holiday today to recover from the choosing process this week. There is a profusion of spectacular images in Flora with no end in sight, This past week we had 78 postings. Of those 5 were from moderators and there were 3 posts from non-members leaving a selection pool of 70 shots. Of those 70 there were 36 with double figure comments. In fact, the forum as a whole averaged a little over 10 comments per image. Way to go. My choice this week came down to Maureen Pulignano's follow the leader. Maureen has been posting some superb orchid shots and has developed a wonderful style. This image put everything together, Thanks for your participation. Keep those posts and critiques coming. >=))>

Bill, great choice! And the Flora gallery is really going strong!

I made this week's choice in the Fauna, Photo Art and (as usual) the Weekly challenge galleries.

There were three photos in the Fauna gallery that really caught my eye. My favorite was this one posted by Yoram Shpirer, a photographer from Israel. Great drama, execution and IMO, what wildlife photography is all about. Unfortunately, Yoram is not a member so I could not choose his photo. John Chapman posted this outstanding image but ultimately this photo by Ganesh Shankar took the prize. I like the overall execution of this photo and the fact that it shows behavior, something that I personally look for in photos in this gallery.

While Cindy Mead struggles with health issues, I make the picks in the Photo Art gallery. Some nice work posted again this week with this photo catching my eye and taking the prize.

In the WC gallery, we had a topic that was not well responded to. Only two photos to choose from, so I picked this one. Not much "nature" in the photo, but the theme didn't leave much room to do so, and this photo fit the theme the best.

Thanks to Bill for doing the "Moderator Musings" threads and to everyone for posting your work on NPN!

Bill
I just wanted to let you know that I enjoy your moderator's musings.

And Jim, I really appreciate your posting links to the close calls. It's nice for those of us who sometimes don't find the time to peruse the galleries.

Thanks

Hi guys! I really enjoyed your "musings". It shows us the thought process of how you come up with the "picks". And it gives folks an idea of how they're progressing, when you highlight a couple of other people's shots. I hope you continue.
