Yesterday I took this shot just as the sign read, "Bird Path" at Brooker Creek Preserve. An 8500 wildlife Preserve located at the edge of Tampa. And to think a group of people are trying to turn part of this into a Ball Park?? Go figure...
Shot using my Nikon D2H with Sigma 500 f/4.5 APO EX-HSM on a monopod

Great shot, with catch lights in both eyes.

I wonder if a bit more saturation could be added to the feathers? Or, maybe this is the natural color.

Thanks for the reply Lance. Yeah this is pretty much the color. But it shows up better on a mac screen, I looked through both. I added a touch more of saturation for the one on my web site and it does look deeper.

Great capture, Deborah. Is there anyway to carefully crop out some of the OOF branches running across the owl's body? Other than that, you have a winner!

Thanks Richard, the branches could be doctored out I suppose but I didn't want to do to much editing. There was just no way I could get him to come out from behind those branches so I took what I could. Thanks for the comment!

love the owl -- great find and I sort of like the OOF braches, because that is what you would see in nature because that's where they are...
