Painted Hills
My son and I made our first visit to the Painted Hills this weekend. The evening light was poor from heavy overcast clouds. A sliver of light appeared, and I was able to capture this photograph.

Comments appreciated.

At least it's something different, Richard, bravo for that.

I agree - I never thought I'd see a Painted Hills view that I hadn't already seen! I like it. On my monitor, there's a slight yellow cast that shows up in the trees. The detail is excellent - especially the grasses along the crest of the hills.

I re-worked the photo, trying to get rid of the yellow color cast. However, there is a lot of green in the hills from the grass that will soon turn brown, once the rainy weather stops and it begins to heat up.

That's much improved on my monitor, Richard - that juniper in the center, in particular, has a more natural green cast to it in this version. I also like the richer reds and charcoals in this version. Nice!

I've got to agree, this is a nice, refreshing, different angle on these hills. Good job.
