The linked photo was taken yesterday morning from the scenic overlook on the west side of Kenosha Pass.

Further south, the Collegiate Peaks

And last weekend I was at Red Rocks and found these:

Penstemon

Perky Sue?

Orange Paintbrush

Common Mouse Ear

Yucca buds

I am so glad that it's Spring/Summer again!

Nice collection, Rebecca! I haven't been around much to enjoy them, but the afternoon clouds that have been building regularly sure make for some dramatic mid-day photos. I like the light and shadow play in the image above.

Be sure to check out the Hayden and Green Mountain Open Space area in Lakewood soon. Even in off years, the wildflower display is consistently good. This year, it ought to be spectacular, starting right about now.

All of them look great! The one you called Orange Paintbrush is actually a variety called Wyoming Paint Brush.

I like the shadows and high contrast. Nice!

James - good to know. First time I saw one, I thought it was a hybrid between a Scarlet Paintbrush and an Alpine Paintbrush! I'm pretty sure I saw a few really out-of-place Rosy Paintbrush along C-470 today; kind of threw me for a loop, since they're usually much higher up and much later in the season.
