Canon 1D Mk II
Canon 100mm f/2.8 Macro

Two flash heads - Canon 550EX and Canon 420EX - Master/Slave
Dang cool Macro setup: http://www.ramblinlamb.com/gallery/posts/macro-kit.jpg

Nancy has been planting all kinds of flowers around the house since we moved in about a year and a half ago and the irises she planted are now blooming in full glory! We saw the first big blooms yesterday and it happened to be raining which only added to the drama!

Out came the macro kit and away we shot! This image isn't quite the DOF I was hoping for but otherwise I'm rather pleased with it. The bloom is about as big as a good sized grapefruit!!! This is a full frame image - no cropping.

So lemme know what yall think ok?!

Thanks!

Nice shot Rick. It may be a little "bottom heavy" but I am liking it.

Rick,
This is different. I really like the colors on this specimen and think you got the comp perfect. I would have preferred to have the upper left droplets in focus, but that's a small nit.
