Independence Pass to Aspen
Celebrated the opening of the pass this weekend with a trip to Aspen. On the way, stopped for a snowshoe up to Lost Man Lake. some snow showers on the way down. Still plenty of snow above 11000 ft. this is from lost man pass (12800)

Looks a bit snowy up there yet! I thought about doing Independence this weekend, but chickened out when my wife came up with a lame knee.

There is tons of ice on Lost Man. Looks like there is still a bit of a wait for summer.

On your Maroon Lake shot, there is some bad flare on the left side. If you weren't using a hood, you might consider it. The moon rise shot is really nice.

Wow the Bells look great right now! That shot makes me want to be that fly-fisherman right now.

To go up to Lost Man Pass, did you go by way of Independence Lake, or the longer slog up to Lost Man Lake, and then on to the pass? Great shots. The first one's my fave.

Todd, i went by way of independence lake. i was sinking in despite the snowshoes, so got some pretty good exercize. Amazed me to see all the curves carved out by skiiers (here's one) on those slopes. ive only been skiing 5 yrs or so, still havent got to that level but that's my goal for next couple winters!
