Comanche Grassland Wildflowers
My wife and I spent the weekend on the Comanche Grasslands where the wildflowers are in full bloom - on both the Timpas and Corrizo units (north and south).

This image was taken in Picture Canyon near the OK border yesterday. Early morning fog was just clearing and would be followed by a typical spring wind. I haven't ID'd the yellow flowers that carpeted the canyon....yet.

Dave, that's a pretty carpet of flowers. I like the inclusion of the FG cactus. I know the fog was probably just lifting, but I'd like to see just a bit more contrast in the BG sky.

The flowers look like a coreopsis (tick seed) from this distance, but its hard to know for sure.

Geez I think I'm the only one here who hasn't seen wildflowers yet! I like the expanse of yellow here. To me it looks like the photo has a slight yellow cast (beside the flowers) which makes the photo look a bit flat - playing with the color balance &or selective color to bump up the blue/green could improve the color contrast and clarity in this shot. Just a suggestion though...
