Hi all

Anyone have one of these gathering dust that they would like to part with?

I think I would prefer the MR14 but depending upon price, would consider the MT24 too

Thanks

Barrie

Hi Barrie,

Malcolm at Camtech has a MR 14EX macro lite. Mint boxed £275.

Goto link then scroll down. I have bought from him before (1DMKII,16-35mm f2.8) and not had any probs.

Thanks Rob

I was expecting a little less than that as the new price (with Canon Cashback) is only a few quid more than that. I'll have a go and see how good the haggling technique is

Barrie,

I use a MR14 and in my opinion the lighting effects it gives are very obvious with the two half circles of flash light being very visible. Given the option I would seriously think about the MT24 as it gives a much better lighting which can be controlled and adjusted to suit the subject

Thanks Kevin for your comments.

I have had the MT24 before (and a ring flash too but not the MR14). I want the ringflash this time for a specific purpose (not natural history related) and in this instance, it's going to be the best option.

I thought I was teaching my grandmother to suck eggs lmao. But better safe than an expensive mistake

Not a problem for me Kev - your trouble is much appreciated. As you say, it is better for someone to say something than to sit back and let someone else rush in and make a mistake.

I have never tried sucking eggs - sounds pretty disgusting
