Hi all,

Just wondered if anyone had any idea how long a 1dm2 battery (NP-e3) would last for, once fully charged and not used for a while. I appreciate it's good practise to ensure your batteries are charged before a shoot, but sometimes it isn't possible, and I just wondered how long those batteries might stay charged and relatively useful when left for a fair while.

Any ideas?

Cheers

Graeme

I have a spare that is fully charged which might be used a week or two later after it was charged, no probs with all day shooting after being left in the rucksack that amount of time.

Hi Graeme - an NIMH battery in good condition - loses about 1% charge per day at room temperature. From: The Video Battery Handbook by the professional video battery manufacturer Anton Bauer .. pdf downloadble from their website.

I'd hazzard a guess that I've had fully charged NP-E3's lying around without being used for a month or two and they've still had plenty of juice left in them. In fact, with the rubbish weather we've being having in May I don't think I've actually recharged them since the end of April as I haven't been doing much shooting :frown:
