Merced Memories
While we enjoyed the splendor and majesty of Half Dome and El Capitan on our recent trip to Yosemite, my son and I would often escape the crowds for a peaceful walk along the Merced.

I love the varied nature of subjects here. Seems to tell a story of death and new life as well. Well balanced and very enjoyable image, Richard.

Very nice image Richard, this is probably my favorite of yours from your recent trip. The subtle light and detail make this image for me.

I'd echo the comments on color and light - there's a beautiful mix of pastels and soft lighting that is really nice to look at. It really captures a "Sierra" mood well. The placement of the tufts of grass is also really nice. The far left edge of the river might benefit from some light burning to tone down the highlights slightly, to keep the focus on the log and the grove on the far bank that it leads the eye to. Very nice!
