CS3 Updates Released

Adobe released a number of updates for CS3 today, including the most anticipated ACR 4.1 (supports lots of new cameras). Start up Bridge and use Help > Updates... to make sure you get all of the updates. I had to run it a few times to get them all. I counted more than six updates that were downloaded and installed, including Bridge 2.1.0.100.

ACR 4.1 has some significant enhancements - not just support for new cameras.

Thanks Walter, hopefully they fixed some of the bugs!

Well, I guess that was too much to hope for. Tried 7 times to download updates. Got some but not all. Even downloading the updates seem to be buggy! The only updatethat came through unscathed was Adobe ad for Adobe reader!!! What do you expect for a program that only a few hundred bucks? :biggrin: :confused: :frown:

I had to run Updater a few times to get all of the updates, but I did get them all. I imagine their site is getting hammered today with people downloading updates. It should smooth out in the next 24 hours.

I had to download the updates three times to get them to install. I think the key is to exit Bridge before teh update process begins. I did this during the second update attempt and all the updates after that took. The other updates took after I exited Bridge before updating the files. The two that were the last to update were the Bridge update and the Raw update. I would think that Adobe would either shut down all operating Adobe programs and tell you to do so. Oh well. CS3 is only a $400 program. What can we expect? If it was a several thousand dollar program we would have to hire an installer/expert from the factory to make it update correctly.

Lightroom's RAW converter is just like (the same as) ACR, and it will be getting an update soon, also.

I'm finding that in both Bridge and Photoshop the updates are greyed out rather than in heavy type. This doesn't seem to be the case with Reader. On occasion the type is normal in Bridge and PS and allows a download. Is this Adobe's we of saying don't bug us, the server is busy?
