Sorry, I just couldn't resist. I only do this sort of thing, well, once in a blue moon...

I'm off to Florida with the girls for a week - Don Kurz will be guarding Cloudland while we are gone - I only hope there are still logs left to come home to...

Purdiest moon I ever seen! Maybe a little tweak here and there...

Have a great trip - hope you take a few pictures - and watch out for them sharks!

I guess I never realized that the moon actually was "blue" during the blue moon phase ... you learn something new everyday.

Have a great trip Tim! :wavey:

I gotta share this:

I just showed Tim's shot to my class of 11-12th grade chemistry students, and some of them thought it was real!!! Funny - but kind of a sad reflection of how much emphasis our nation, state (and consequently, our schools) put on standardized test scores. Since there is no end-of-course exam in science, it's not a priority. And, thanks to George W., schools have to show improvement in test scores, or else...

Ahhhh Bill, but if it's in print or pictures it has to be true! Because seeing is believing! Darn photoshop!!!

In my daughter's classes now the teachers only teach what they think is going to be on the test so the kids make a good score so that the teachers can keep their jobs - they no longer learn much that is really useful. How in the world are you supposed to be a good teacher, or student for that matter? Bill you should scrap that dang test and take your kids out to the woods to watch the moonrise - then they would learn something! I suspect your kids learn a bit more than the ones next door already!

Here, Here! I remember learning more on my biology (or was it Earth Science?) class field trip to Pinnacle Mountain than I did most of the year sitting in class.

Never actually seen a "blue" moon before - thanks for sharing and have fun on the trip - forget the sharks - just look out for them gators!
