It is time for a new monitor and I'm looking for recommendations. However, I simply can't afford to drop $600-$1500 on a high-end color critical monitor. That leaves the prosumer market, where I can't seem to find any consistency in what people are recommending. It appears this is because they make recommendations based on their own eye and their past experience, as opposed to any kind of standard testing.
So I've got three questions for the NPN forum gods:
(1) Where do you go for reliable monitor reviews?
(2 and 3) What monitor did you chose and why?
In the hopes of actually contributing something to this discussion, here's an extensive thread I found that makes recommendations for monitors: http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview.aspx?catid=31&threadid=2049206&enterthread=y
Jeremy,
Shootsmarter.com has done monitor testing and recommendations, but they recommend all the expensive ones. It might be worth a read though. Gook luck in your quest.
If anyone out there is interested, Toms Hardware has reviewed several large (20"+) LCDs recently:
