Classic Punchbowl
It had been awhile since I shot this....and I like this better then the ones I got last year...

I am curious to know if you feel the Greenery at the bottom is too much or if it just does not work with the comp....I tried to frame the splash with the leaves...

Thanks for looking and leaving a comment

Love the greens here - too cool but IMHO - this would've been a great shot without the foreground leaves, I should also add that this is an impulsive opinion. Also somehow the rest of the water being dark - seems a bit unreal.

I don't mind the FG vegetation at all but the image does appear too dark. I would also open up the areas under the overhang if possible.

Thanks guys....this image was shot very early in the morning...about 5:45 so that is why the color is a bit funkey.....here is a brighter version......thanks again

The brighter version is definetely an improvement.

I like the FG bushes, but the color is still a bit odd. First version had better color but was too dark, second one was better (still needs to be brighter) but its skewing too far to the red channel.

I agree with Bryan - the color balance on the first image is good, just a bit dark. I like this image, Darren. It's a nice break from the standard horizontal format for this particular view, and I really like the foreground foliage. It gives the scene a very attractive, intimate scale. The false soloman seal over on the left looks somewhat out of focus, but could simply be moving, too. Your shutter speed for the falls is perfect - very nice!

Darren,
A two or three shot blend might have ben the ticket for this shot. The second one is better imho.

Thanks Erik, I agree with you on the blend...sometimes I forget I have that option now....and I was really in a hurry to get up to Tunnel falls.....see man and nature....for early low light!!!!

Cheers man! :toast:

Looks cool Darren - that's my favorite comp. of the falls.

The roses in North Portland are looking really nice in case you are interested...
