Stream Violet
There's a small stream you pass on the hike to Sol Duc Falls that display these stream violets in late Spring. This was taken a few years ago and since then most of these boulders have been stripped of their moss.

Yeah, its really too bad what happened in the floods to that stream. Definitely nowhere near as pretty now as it was. Is this a straight scan or did you tweak the color a bit? The blues don't look nearly as saturated as I'd expect velvia would render by default.

Bryan, I just did levels, S/H, and reduced the contrast a bit. I'm very much a novice at scanning and everything associated with it and now that I've switched to digital (which I find much easier) I don't plan on doing much more. I checked out Sol Duc Falls a couple of weeks ago and couldn't believe what the heavy rains and flooding have done to that area as well.... :frown:

I think it's a sweet shot. I would have used a polarizer to cut the reflection on the water. Or did you?

I do like the composition, Mark... I used to scan slides myself, and so glad that digital took that all away! :toast:

I like it, maybe a bit of a crop from the top but not much
