Tree Sparrow Passer montanus

Our Tree spugs have nested successfully again this year, although their first brood has only had 3 chicks fledge. This is Dad doing his Christmas Fairy impression on his favourite shouting perch - now if I can only persuade him to use this spot in the winter when the Holly is frosted or snowy .

He has a couple of favoured shouting perches which he uses to declare his territory - he 'owns' 2 nest boxes in the garden and is preparing to move into the 2nd one for his next brood , guess it's one way to breed faster - don't bother cleaning out the old nest .

great perch and pose, maybe a bit tighter would be nice

Nice light and an unusual perch he's sat on, like it

Nice work.

What a cracking shot Nick, for me the space provided is well suited, the holly a bonus, the species, just brilliant

Pleasure to view:toast:

Oh, the storyline made me laugh  nice one

Nice one, Nick.
I do not know how you can handhold that combo and get such a sharp picture! You must have a very steady hand or be very strong!

Hi Nick nice capture and nice story. For me I feel there is to much green above the bird. :toast:

Nice shot nick, not a common bird anymore, your lucky to have them so close!

Superbly shot Nick. Exposure is bang on and also the processing looks very good indeed.

Bit too much space on top for me too and a slightly tighter crop all round would be my personal preference

Beautiful image though :toast:
