I know Erik S. has a long-anticipated book coming out soon, so I thought I'd beat him to the punch by announcing that I've got a new book out. It's a smaller paperback book called Colorado Wild: An Intimate Portrait of the Centennial State and contains mostly close-up photos. I doubt it has the right niche to sell tons of copies, but it probably has the best photos of any of my books. Here's a link to it's web page: http://www.collierpublishing.com/Colorado-Wild.htm

And my 2008 calendar is now out at: http://www.collierpublishing.com/2008calendar.htm

This concludes my blatant self-promotion until next year .

Congratulations Grant! You certainly seem to be churning them out. The cover looks really nice. I look forward to seeing what's inside. The cover shot on your calendar is amazing! I would love to have a shot of Longs like that! Way to go Grant! :toast:

Look foward to seeing your book. Congratulations!

I really like the cover, right down to your font selection. (Not "wild" about the Bells shot with the dry rocks, as it doesn't compare to the other three, but the touristas will eat it right up.) I also think that aspen leaves swirling in the reflecting pool shot is one of your best.

Thanks for the comments! The book isn't in stores yet. I'm going to launch the book this week, so it will probably be a few weeks before it's in stores. I'm not too "wild" about the Bells on the cover, either, as I once said I would never put the Maroon Bells on the front cover of a book . But I wanted one big landscape on the cover to help the sales and only had two vertical landscapes in the book to choose from.

Congrats Grant! Looking forward to seeing it in person! Oh, and I gotta agree with Todd here, "aspen leaves swirling in the reflecting pool" has always been one of my favorites of yours! Or anybodies for that matter!

I hope it hits the stores this month, so I can get a copy while in town. Congrats.

I know what you mean about vertical landscape shots. I didn't think it would be a big issue when asked for a selection of vertical shots for a cover last week. Then I started looking for some....

Grant, I look forward to taking a look at it. I notice you have your own publishing company. Do you foot all of the costs for publishing yourself?

Awesome, can't wait to check it out! And the Bells shot rocks!
