I thought I'd stray a little further from the safety of my "traditional landscapes" comfort zone, and post another image from the Moffett Creek trip -- this time, a downstream view in the middle of the boulder garden, a few hundred yards downstream from Moffett Falls. This is one of those spots that looked really striking on the ground, yet I struggled with how to compose the image.

As always, thanks in advance for comments and suggestions -- especially on composition!

Tom, I like the log as a leading line... but then as the old timers around here will tell you, I like our mossy logs more than most :). Nice color and light too. it doesn't wow me, but it's a very pleasent image.

I like it as a natural forest scene. But I might be infected just like Curtis. I just like the forests here. :)

Thanks for the comments - I think there must be a 12-step program for mossy log addictions..?

This image is a tad too obvious that it is way wide of an angle, otherwise...nice scene.

Do you mean that you would have cropped the lower left portion of the image out, or the background in the opposite corner? As always, my weak spot is that I've never seen a wide angle that I wouldn't make wider...
